DESCRIPTION:  \nGail Keenan Art Center at Coast Episcopal School Presents Paper Fools: Works on Paper \nOpening Reception is April 1st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. \n  \n\nLONG BEACH\, Miss. — The Gail Keenan Art Center at Coast Episcopal School is excited to announce Paper Fools: Works on Paper\, a group show featuring paper-based art created by some of the area’s most dynamic artists. Paper Fools will be on view April 1 to April 30\, 2022. \nCurated by Gulf Coast photographer and artist Ann Madden\, the show will also feature works by artists Kat Fitzpatrick\, Laurin Stennis\, Church Goin’ Mule\, Mary Hardy\, Paulette Dove\, Yuki Northington\, Laura Scialdone\, Michelle Allee\, Kerr Grabowski\, Diane Killeen\, Sadako Lewis\, Dale Pohl\, Suzanne Findeisen\, Annita Johnson and Carmen Lugo. \n“These sixteen artists have transformed the most basic of art supplies\, a piece of paper\, into something extraordinary\,” said Madden\, who added that drawing\, painting\, mixed media\, photography and print are among the mediums that will be displayed. \nAn Opening Reception\, free and open to the public\, will be held on Friday\, April 1\, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Works will be available for purchase\, and a portion of each sale supports the Gail Keenan Art Center\, whose mission is to enhance arts education and appreciation of the arts at Coast Episcopal School and the Gulf Coast. \nThe Opening Reception also will include refreshments and a Paper Fools photobooth. MS 39560 \nSaturday\, December 4\, 2021\n10 AM to 2 PM\nPlease pack a lunch \nCost: $125 per person ages 16 and up\n$25 per child working with a parent \nRegister here\nJoin us for an easy\, enjoyable workshop as we create a nativity scene from clay. Artist Stacey Hardy will provide templates for creating nativity figures and instruction on how to embellish your work with texture tools\, mark making\, and glazing. Participants are encouraged to bring ideas or sketches to class\, and we’ll also review some nativity images from around the world. Your style can be as traditional or modern as you like! The finished Nativity figures will be available to pick up at Coast Episcopal School December 13-16. \nOpen to individuals over the age of 16. Children 6 to 15 years of age may participate if working with an adult. Adults must supervise children as we want this to be a relaxing and enjoyable class for all in attendance.
